Welcome to the blog
I am Leonardo de Oliveira Martins, a Bayesian Data Engineer, specialised in Computational Biology of the Evolutionary Genomics variety. I am a Tenure Track Fellow at the Signal Processing Group of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Liverpool.
I used to be the Head of Phylogenomics at the Quadram Institute Biosciences (a senior bioinformatician post), where I developed and streamlined hig-performing computational methods for the evolutionary analysis of microbial data sets.
This blog will consist mostly of technical notes, but I don’t preclude an occasional rant. Hopefully I’ll move some old posts from other obscure blogs I had in the past. You can also find me on a mastodon server https://scicomm.xyz/web/@leomrtns.
